                          Romanian white cherrycoloured flier

 

    History :

                  They have appeared and have been bred in Bucharest starting with the first decade of the last century small number being met in some other regions of the country, too.

    Flying abilities:

                   Breed especially for their beauty trained for flying , they fly with good results in flight.

     Affiliation:

                   The group of the flying circling around pigeons with wide tail and medium peak.

     General impression:

                   Middle towards small size pigeon with a proportional configuration of the body and cherry coloured beautiful velvet-like metal bright feathers.

     

Breed standard:

                 Head:  small, without topknot high forehead slightly bending backhead and

                            bending crown slightly flat.

 

                Eyes:   yellow orange iris with white double lashes having delicate structure

                           white in colour.

 

                 Beak:   middle straight white darker with female. Also the beak of the collar

                            white cherrycoloured pigeons is lighter in colour than the simple white

                            cherrycoloured ones. The nose swelling are small, heart-shaped and 

                            white powdered.

 

               Neck:    short, bent a little forward archlike.

 

               Back:    narrow , a little bit shorter than of those with frames in their tails,

                            shallow striped.

 

               Wings:  long white and with the tops under the tails , sticked to the body.

 

                Tail:      wide half-round and slighty fanlike having 15-17 feathers forms a

                             beautiful  horizontal line in extention of the body.Uropigian

                             gland is missing.

               Chest:    muscular, outer curved and kept straight out.

 

               Legs:     short featherless claws have the same colour with the beak.

 

               Stature:  medium to small.

 

               Feathers: dense , elastic silky sticked to the body.

 

               Colour: red cherrcoloured.

 

               Colour and drawing : The colour is strong uniform of the whole body glitter

                               metal reflections. The first feathers of the wings have white frames to

                               the tops also cherry coloured .The females may have a smaller frame

                                in the wings and less strong than the males. There are :

·        simple ones : without collar

·        gulerati :  with collar , having white tail preferable with the

                                                    feathers under and up the tail completely white

                                                    (the crupe completely white) and under is starting

                                                    from the cloaca.

                               Taking the drawing into account there are:

·        collared ones (with with feathers on the body)

·        colarless (having a white spot on the chest in front of the neck)

·        collarless( having a white spot on the back side of the neck)

                                    Also there are pigeons completely white.

Deficiences            :

                                    Big body, long and thin head, loss of the colour in the wings , violet-blue or white on the belly, light colour feathers, the complete lack of the frames in the wings, eyes different in colour or broken, thin lashes, lack of glitter, the whiteness of the tail is united  to the one of the collar, the white tail starting from bellow, the tail not enough widened or kept low, the cherrycoloured crupe , high legs, wings kept in extension  of the tail.

                  Romanian cherrycoloured flier

 

History:

               Breed spread especially in Bucharest , Ploiesti, Buzau, and their surroundings.

Flying abilities:

               In the past they used to fly in flocks very high for 1,5-2 hours.Nowadays the

               white cherrycoloured ones are flown more.

General impression:

               Small medium size pigeon having a well-proportioned body carried horizontally

               on short legs the tail fanlike.

Classification:

               The group of the flying circling round pigeons with wide tail and medium beak.

 

Breed standard:

     Head:

               Small, crestless,square rounded corners towards forehead and backhead.

               The forehead is convex and the crown rounded slightlyflat.Convex backhead

     Eyes: 

               Yellow-orange with double lashes delicate and white.

     Beak:

               13-14 mm long, thin enough straight slightly bent down, white and slight brown

                shades( dark colour beak). The swellings on the bases of the beak are small

                heart-shaped widely opened and white powdered.

     Neck:

                Short, slightly bent forward, a little arched.

    Chest:

                Muscular,proportional wide,cinver,slighbly raised

Abdomen:

                Is courved and deep.Chest perimeter is 24-26cm.

      

   Back:

             Narrow,long,shallow.

 Wings:         

             21-22cm long,wide with the tops under the tails,stuck to the body 62-67cm wide-

             spreading.

     Tail:   

             11-13cm long,large,half-round,fanlike open,with 15-17cm feathers,corried in

              extension of the body.Uropigian gland is missing of.

   Legs:

             7-8cm long,featherless.

Feathers:  

             Dense,elastic stuck to the body.

Colour varieties:

              The colour is red cherry,the colour of the fully ripe cherry.

Colour and drawing:

              The colour is uniform on the whole body having the same intensity and reflexes

               as the feathers of the nack. Both the feathers in the wings and in the tail have

               white frames to the top of the feathers in the wings being smaller(0,5-1cm)

               and the feathers in the tail bigger(1-2 cm). The tops end in cherry coloured line      

               so the white frame is surrounded on each side by the cherry colour.With females

               the frame is usally smaller and the white less strong than with  the males.

               After drawing we distinquish :

      • Simple or onecoloured
      • Collared: with a white scarf round the neck
      • Leftati:  with the white spot on the front side of the neck
      • Stoicati:  with the white spot on the backside of the neck

               As well as completely white.

               They don,t give birth to many white spoted babies (florii).

Deficiencies:

                Big body; roughly built; narrow; up chest; high legs; tail carried down; not enough extended; the lack of colour and the glaze; pink or thin lash; eyes different in colour or /and with an interrupted colour of the iris; white on the belly or under the wings; the first feathers grey; simple or with spot round the neck having the croup cherrycoloured; collared having white spots under the wings; small frames in the wings or/and tail or their lack.
